DAILY POST reports that Bankole Olowookere’s side started their campaign with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over the Young Football Ferns on Wednesday night.
Afolabi scored Nigeria’s fourth goal of the game.
“I want Nigerians to expect good results, great wins and they should keep supporting us,” she vowed.
“It was a good game from the girls because that is their first World Cup, apart from me, it was a good game.”
The midfielder also reflected on her Man of the Match prize.
“I feel grateful, I feel good for the goal and MOTM award, all thanks to Adegoke Taiwo for the assist,” she added.
