Inter head coach, Simone Inzaghi has suggested that his team defeated Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday because his players defended well against the Gunners in the second half of the encounter.
He also branded Arsenal as one thing e best teams he’s seen in the Champions League this season so far.
Inzaghi watched as the Serie A champions defeated Mikel Arteta’s side 1-0 at San Siro on Wednesday.
Hakan Calhanoglu’s first-half penalty sealed the victory for the hosts.
“They are one of the best teams I have seen in this Champions League journey,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.
“We started very well, then we lost ground. In the second half we restarted better and defended well. It’s a very important victory in front of our fans, having City and Arsenal meet in this way is a source of pride.
“Our journey must continue like this, in the Champions League we are maintaining a good average and we must continue like this.”
