Yewa Awori Holds Key Role In Ogun State’s Developmental Agenda, Says Abiodun

In a resounding affirmation of his commitment to the progress and prosperity of Ogun West Senatorial District, the state Governor, Dapo Abiodun reiterated that the region will remain a central focus of his administration’s socio-economic priorities.

Speaking at the Yewa Division Town Hall meeting held in Ilaro, the capital of the senatorial district, Governor Abiodun, represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, emphasized that Ogun West holds a pivotal place in his government’s developmental agenda.

The governor highlighted the district’s significance as the industrial capital of Nigeria, boasting the highest concentration of factories and industrial hubs in the country.

 It is also home to some of the largest industrial estates in sub-Saharan Africa. 

Abiodun expressed his administration’s unwavering commitment to attracting new industries and ensuring the sustainability of existing ones, while also prioritizing the ease of doing business in the area.

He assured the people of Ogun West that his government understands their concerns and is actively working to alleviate their challenges. 

Governor Abiodun acknowledged the importance of good governance and citizens’ participation, asserting that the town hall meeting serves as a vital feedback mechanism for governance.

Commissioner For Budget and Planning, Mr Olaolu Olabimtan, underlined the meeting’s role in enhancing citizens’ confidence and trust through engagement, promoting investment, and sustaining inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony.

 He highlighted that last year’s meeting resulted in an impressive 95% incorporation of citizens’ inputs into the budget.

The Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, HRM, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, echoed the significance of well-maintained roads and called attention to several critical road projects in the region. 

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kazeem Salako, emphasized the need for housing schemes and the completion of various vital road projects.

Olobi of Ilobi, HRH, Oba Saliu Adedokun Ajibade, stressed the importance of rural development in the Yewa land and the urgent attention needed for specific areas.

In response to the demands of the people, Governor Abiodun appealed for patience while assuring that his administration was fully committed to addressing the region’s concerns. 

He announced the government’s recent agreement for the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Expressway, a major road in the area, to alleviate the suffering of commuters.

The governor also expressed his unwavering dedication to completing all ongoing infrastructure projects across Ogun West and appreciated the collaborative efforts of the Royal Fathers in promoting regional development.

Governor Abiodun’s reaffirmation of Ogun West’s pivotal role in the state’s development underscores his administration’s commitment to creating a brighter future for the people of the region.
