Jigawa correspondents chapel elect new EXCO

The Jigawa State Correspondents chapel has elected new executive members to run the affairs of the union for three years.

The election of the new leadership followed the expiration of the tenure of the erstwhile executives.

The election was conducted peacefully and in accordance with the Constitution of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

The elected executives include Zangina Muhammad Kura of Leadership Newspaper as Chairman, Abubakar Ahmad Maishanu of Premium Times Newspaper as Vice Chairman, Aisha Ahmad of News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, as Secretary, and Abdulwahab Ibn Sa’id of Channels Television as Financial Secretary.

Speaking on behalf of the new executives, the chairman of the chapel, Comrade Zangina Muhammad Kura promised to carry all the members along for the progress of the union.



He urged the members to cooperate with the new leadership to achieve the desired objectives.

The newly chapel leadership emerged through consensus as all the positions where unopposed.

The election was monitored by the Jigawa State chairman of the NUJ, security agencies and other stakeholders.
