The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has signed five bills into law, including a bill to do with water supply.

The water bill, entitled Adamawa State Water Supply and Sanitation Hygiene Services Law 2024, applies to various state agencies, including the Adamawa State Water Services Regulatory Commission, Private Sector Participation and Service Providers, Adamawa State Water Corporation, and more.

The details are according to Governor Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, who disclosed in a press release Thursday morning that the bills mark significant progress in development efforts.

The second newly signed law is Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency Law 2024, which repeals the State Essential Drugs Programme Edict of 1996.

There is the Teachers Service Commission Law 2024, which establishes the Adamawa State Teachers’ Service Commission, as well as the Adamawa State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology Ganye Law 2024, which repeals Adamawa State College of Agriculture Ganye Law 15 of 2016.

The fifth new law is the Adamawa State College of Nursing Sciences Law 2024, which repeals Adamawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery Law 2 of 2017.

“Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of collaboration in implementing these laws, ensuring their provisions are understood and adopted by all segments of society,” Wonosikou stated.
