The Yobe State Police Command has rescued a 22-year-old woman abducted at Tashan Randa village, Fika LGA of the state.
The victim was abducted on May 6, 2025, when unidentified armed men attacked the residence of her father, one Alhaji Maikudi in Tashan Randa village, Fika LGA.
A police source said the kidnappers, during the operations, fired shots that injured a girl at a neighbouring house. They also demanded N5 million as ransom to release the victim.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters responded by initiating an investigation that led to the rescue of the victim and the dismantling of the kidnappers’ den.
He said through collaborative efforts with hunters, the police arrested two suspects linked to the incident, one Waiti Bello (30) of Jangalawaje village, and Idrissa Adamu (35) of Biriri Village, Gujba LGA.
He said other members of the syndicate were currently on the run, but that efforts are on to apprehend them.
The PPRO said the arrested suspects had confessed to the crime and are cooperating with security operatives.
He listed items recovered from them to include one Dane gun and a motorcycle.
