The Benue State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a woman identified as Salome Tersoo, who allegedly killed her husband, Tersoo Emmanuel, during a domestic altercation in the early hours of July 31, 2025.
The incident occurred in Agera Mbaashia community, located in Gaav District of Konshisha Local Government Area, plunging residents into shock.
According to the police, the matter was reported to the Konshisha Divisional Headquarters at about 10:30 a.m. by the deceased’s father, Mr. Emmanuel Achir.
A source within the command told PLATFORM TIMES that preliminary investigations revealed the couple had a heated argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.
During the scuffle, Salome reportedly kicked her 32-year-old husband in the stomach and bit his hand, causing him to collapse and die on the spot.
“The suspect fled the scene immediately after realising the man was unresponsive and has since remained at large,” the police source disclosed.
Officers from the Konshisha Division visited the scene, documented evidence, and evacuated the deceased’s body to God’s Approved Funeral Service mortuary for autopsy and further investigation.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command said the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the case and launched a full-scale investigation.
“Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect,” the spokesperson added.
The tragic incident has sparked concern among community members, who are calling for justice and urging the police to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspect.
