Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has challenged the Federal Government to hand him control of a security agency, boasting that he would wipe out the menace of Fulani terrorists across the country.
Igboho, who spoke on Wednesday while addressing his supporters in Ibadan, Oyo State, declared that he was ready to storm forests and communities believed to be hideouts of the groups and rid them of arms and ammunition.
According to him, the bloodshed arising from herder-farmer clashes and other forms of terrorism had lingered for too long without decisive action from the authorities.
He said, “The government should hand over a security agency to me and see if I won’t eradicate the Fulani terrorists. If I don’t wipe them out, then let the government wipe me out.”
The activist, who became popular in 2021 for launching campaigns against violent herders in the South-West, insisted that he was willing to put his life on the line to restore peace to troubled communities.
Igboho’s comments come at a time when clashes between herders and farmers continue to claim lives in parts of the country.
Only in June this year, no fewer than 200 people were killed in Yelwata community, Benue State, during a series of violent attacks linked to the conflict.
Security analysts have consistently warned that the persistence of such attacks threatens national stability and food security.
