The Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF) has announced activities for the 2025 Remo Day Celebration, with a pledge to deepen unity, cultural pride, and socio-economic development across Remoland and beyond.
The celebration, themed “One People, Diverse Cultures, One Identity,” is scheduled to hold from December 23 to 27, 2025, with a series of cultural, religious, and community-building events expected to draw sons and daughters of Remo from across Nigeria and the diaspora.
Speaking at a press conference held on Friday, at the RemoGDF Secretariat in Iperu, Ogun State, the Chairman of the Foundation, Otunba Seni Adetu, described the festival as more than a gathering, but a “homecoming” to showcase Remoland’s heritage and achievements.
“This year’s theme speaks to who we are — beautifully diverse in traditions and language, yet firmly united by one shared identity,” Adetu said.
“Remo Day 2025 promises to be a celebration of our history, achievements, and the bright future ahead.”
He added that the week-long programme will feature a cultural parade, dance drama, beauty contest, and a grand rally, noting that the events will inspire pride and strengthen bonds among Remo indigenes at home and abroad.
Adetu also hailed traditional rulers, partners, and the media for championing Remo development, singling out the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, for his leadership.

Represented by the Ebi of Idena, Oba Lukman Salami, the Akarigbo stressed that cultural revival remains a catalyst for unity and progress, urging all Remo people to participate actively.
“The power of unity remains a strong catalyst for progress,” the monarch said.
“This celebration is a cultural spectacle aimed at uniting our people and showcasing the strength of our diversity.”

December 19: Joint Jum’ah prayer at Ogere Central Mosque
December 21: Christian service at Ogijo, led by CAN Ogun chapter
Cultural Day: Participation from Hausa, Igbo, Benin, and other ethnic groups to foster inter-ethnic harmony
Dance drama: “Remo: A Total Theatre Experience” written by Kabiyesi Elepe and others, directed by Kunle Bantefa and Jade Osinberu
December 26: Beauty pageant
December 27: Grand finale showcasing all Remo towns
Sowole noted that since the maiden edition last year, Remo Day has attracted growing participation from Remo people in Warri, Port Harcourt, Abuja, and abroad.
“There is now more unity, peace, and mutual respect among Remo communities,” he said.
…Diaspora Mobilisation, Development Goals
RemoGDF maintained that the celebration will deepen socio-economic advancement through partnerships and diaspora engagement.
Adetu reiterated that the foundation would continue championing development initiatives to connect Remo sons and daughters globally and promote progress at home.
The leadership urged indigenes worldwide to return home and take part in the celebration.
“Let us once again showcase the best of who we are — one people, diverse cultures, one identity,” Adetu added.
RemoGDF expressed optimism that the 2025 edition will build on the success of the inaugural celebration, reinforcing Remoland’s cultural pride and development drive.
