…40 Members to Attend 3-Day Conflict Resolution Programme

The Ogun State Branch of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has moved to strengthen its capacity for peacebuilding and professional development through a partnership with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The association, during a courtesy visit to the university on Thursday, expressed its intention to collaborate with the Institute for Communication and General Studies (ICGNS), particularly in the area of Peace and Development Studies.
Speaking during the visit, FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, lauded RTEAN’s initiative, describing it as a “commendable step towards institutional synergy for societal transformation.”
“The transport sector is very demanding and requires expertise and resilience. Partnering with FUNAAB is a wise and strategic decision you will never regret,” Prof. Kehinde said.
He assured the team of the university’s commitment to delivering impactful and practical training aligned with RTEAN’s goals for peace and professional advancement.
Director of the Institute, Prof. Remi Aduradola, also commended the visiting team, noting that RTEAN’s gesture reflected “the true spirit of what FUNAAB stands for — unity, peace, and community engagement.”
She added that the collaboration would further strengthen efforts toward promoting peace and mutual understanding among stakeholders in the transport sector.
Similarly, the Programme Leader, Peace and Development Studies, ICGNS, Dr. Tope Olaifa, praised the association’s proactive approach to partnership.
She disclosed that a follow-up meeting would soon be convened to outline RTEAN’s specific roles in the collaboration.
Responding, RTEAN’s Ogun State Secretary, Comrade Tiwalade Akingbade, thanked FUNAAB’s management for the warm reception.
He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to peace and conflict resolution, announcing that at least 40 members had already registered for the university’s forthcoming 3-Day Conflict Resolution Programme.
“We believe in peace. Where there is peace, we can grow in business and uphold our social contract with society,” Akingbade stated.
Other key officials at the meeting included the university’s Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi; Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; Deputy Registrar (Executive Affairs), Mr. Moses Ayanda; and senior officials of ICGNS.
The RTEAN delegation was led by the association’s Deputy Chairman (Administration), Chief Segun Johnson, who represented the State Chairman, Alhaji Akibu Titilayo Efele.
