The Ogun State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is set to break new ground as it hosts the maiden edition of its end-of-year celebration, “Owanbe Nite Season 1,” a cultural-themed convergence designed to blend professionalism with the state’s rich heritage.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Event Towers, Kuto, Abeokuta, will parade the vibrancy of Adire fabrics, district-based cultural showcases, traditional drummers, dancers and a lineup of award presentations.
In a statement on Monday, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mrs. Adijat Olaleye, said the Owanbe Nite was conceived not merely as a social gathering but as a platform to reinforce the cultural identity and unity of practitioners across Ogun’s three senatorial districts.
“This event is more than a party,” Olaleye declared.
“It is about showcasing the beauty of our culture, the pride of our profession and the power of unity. Owanbe Nite is a groundbreaking platform designed to amplify our heritage while strengthening bonds across the public relations community.”
Top government officials expected at the ceremony include the Ogun State Governor and Patron of the chapter, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON; the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who will serve as Mother of the Nite; and the First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, who is billed as the Special Guest of Honour.
Also expected is the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, attending as Royal Father of the Nite, while the Managing Director of CMC Connect LLP, Chief Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, will chair the occasion.
Olaleye added that the chapter was rounding off another year marked by strategic growth and collaboration, noting that the theme of the event reflects the creative spirit of the state’s PR community.
“The Owanbe Nite symbolises the rich heritage and innovative energy of our people as exemplified by Adire,” she said. “It is a testament to what culture, creativity and professionalism can achieve when they work together to elevate our communities.”
She reaffirmed the commitment of Ogun NIPR to strengthening ethical public relations practice across the state.
“At Ogun NIPR, we remain dedicated to promoting professionalism, upholding ethical standards and contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Ogun State and Nigeria at large.”
According to the committee, admission to the event will be strictly regulated through an access card and adherence to the approved dress code.
