The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Ogun State and announced the commencement of the mandatory display of the voters’ register for public scrutiny.
In a statement signed by the Ogun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Feyijimi Saseyi, the Commission said the first phase of the CVR exercise officially ended on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, after months of online and physical registration across the state.
In line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2022, INEC will display the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections from Monday, December 15 to Sunday, December 21, 2025. The display will take place at all 20 Local Government Area offices between 9am and 3pm daily.
The exercise, described as “a critical phase in strengthening the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral process,” will allow voters to verify their details, correct errors, and flag the names of ineligible, underage, or deceased persons.
Saseyi urged all newly registered voters, those who transferred their polling units, and individuals who updated their personal information to visit the display centres to confirm their details.
“The Display Centres will have designated forms for submitting claims or objections. We advise citizens to take full advantage of this opportunity to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the voter register,” the REC said.
According to INEC’s data, Ogun State recorded a total of 85,739 registrations as of December 5, 2025. This figure includes 57,598 completed online pre-registrations and 28,141 physical registrations conducted at various centres statewide.
INEC noted that the second phase of the nationwide CVR exercise will resume on January 5, 2026, assuring the public of its continued commitment to maintaining a transparent, credible, and inclusive voter register.
The Commission appealed for sustained public participation and cooperation, stressing that an accurate voter register remains the foundation of credible elections and a stronger democratic process.
