The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Dr David Olaniyi Oyedepo, has again declared that no amount of money, including a hypothetical offer of $1bn, would make him venture into partisan politics.
Oyedepo stated this during the impartation service at the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025, where he urged Christians to remain committed to their divine calling rather than be distracted by political ambitions.
The cleric stressed that politics was completely outside his assignment, noting that his role was to raise men and women who would provide solutions to societal challenges through godly values and leadership.
“Partisan politics is off my calling. If you give me $1bn to join politics, I won’t, because it is off my course,” Oyedepo said.
He recalled warning members of his church about impending national difficulties years ago, adding that recent events had validated those concerns.
“In 2015, I warned the church that trouble was coming. Didn’t trouble come?” he asked.
Oyedepo further described the present global situation as one engulfed in darkness, but expressed confidence that change would come through believers who are firmly rooted in their purpose.
Quoting from the Bible, specifically Romans 8:19, he said the world was waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, stressing that the solution to national and global crises would not necessarily come from politics alone.
“The world is groaning in darkness, but the world is waiting for the earnest manifestations of the children of God,” he said.
According to him, a new generation of believers, likened to biblical figures such as Joseph and Daniel, would soon emerge to provide direction and solutions to complex national challenges.
“The army of God is about to emerge to proffer solutions to national crises in the order of Joseph and Daniel. This is the day of what eyes have not seen or ears heard,” the bishop added.
Oyedepo has, over the years, consistently distanced himself from partisan politics, maintaining that his focus remains on spiritual leadership and nation-building through faith-based principles.
