    Yahoo Boy Kills Junior Secondary School Student In Ondo

    Tragedy struck in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Monday, as a speeding motorist, suspected to be an internet fraudster, popularly known as Yahoo boy ran over a Junior Secondary School student, killing her on the spot.

    PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the student was returning from school and was standing by the roadside when she was hit by the driver.

    An eye witness narrated that immediately the incident occured, friends of the suspected Yahoo boy rushed towards his car and rescued him.

    The source said “friends of the driver, a suspected internet fraudster, who were in another vehicle, rushed him to an unknown destination as his vehicle burst into flames.

    “Government needs to pay attention to the recklessness of these internet fraudsters.

    The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya confirmed the incident .

    Odunlami-Omisanya said the corpse of the student has been deposited in the morgue at the Akure Specialist Hospital.

    Recalled that an innocent man was set ablaze by a mob in the state recently after he was taken for an internet fraudster .

    Some persons were later arrested in connection to the incident .
