    After Blocking Ogun Assembly’s Gate: Police Invite Deputy Speaker, Begin Investigation

    The Ogun State police command says it has invited both former deputy  speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Dare Kadiri for blocking  the gate of the assembly compound with his car.

    Kadiri represents Ijebu-North Constituency 2 at the 9th assembly was impeached and suspended from the assembly for gross misconduct .

    The lawmaker however stormed the premises of the governor’s office and blocked the gate of the assembly .

    Kadiri’s action forced the assembly workers to trek through an alternative entrance into the assembly complex.

    A police detachment led by deputy commissioner of Police ,Bolanle Muritala restored peace after it persuaded the angry lawmaker to leave the entrance .

    The police however invited Kadiri for his action which was described as an act of public disturbance among others .

    The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the invitation of the lawmaker.

    Oyeyemi said the group led by speaker,Olakunle Oluomo  has also  been invited,adding that investigation into the crisis has begun.

    PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Kadiri has been asked to make a statement over his action and might be granted bail.

    Oyeyemi said ” the man is with us. We have invited him . We are investigating the matter . The matter is under investigation . He has made a statement.

    “We have asked the other party to come and make statement ,we are looking into it . We are expecting them any moment from now.”
