The Chairman of the Ogun State 2023 adhoc committee, Dr. Tajudeen Asaye has disclosed that no fewer than 1147 pilgrims have been airlifted .

Dr. Asaye explained that three batches of the pilgrims from Ogun State have returned from Saudi Arabia after completing this year’s Hajj exercise out of 1238 pilgrims from the state .

The Chairman of the committee said out of the 1,238 pilgrims from Ogun only one was deported while others performed their Hajj Rites .

He added that the pilgrims landed at Muritala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos and have reunited with their families .

The adhoc Chairman in a statement released said “the third batch landed in Lagos yesterday (Saturday) by 5 35 PM, the remaining pilgrims with the carrier officers and board members are 90 to be lifted as soon as possible.

“The total number of Ogun pilgrims was 1238.

“One Pilgrim was deported, and 1237 performed the Hajj rite, 1147 are presently in Nigeria, and 90 pilgrims inclusive of Amir -lHajj, the Chairman and some members of the Ad-hoc Board Committee, the executive secretary and the carrier officers of Ogun State pilgrims welfare Board were still in Mecca.”

He therefore urged the Pilgrims to conduct themselves well in society and always allow the teachings of Hajj to reflect in their day-to-day activities.

Speaking on behalf of the Pilgrims, Alhaji Ismaheel Adedo thanked Almighty Allah for journey mercy, praying that God accepts their hajj as an act of Ibadah.
