In a remarkable feat at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Subair Enitan, a determined student, embarked on a handwashing marathon with the goal of setting a new Guinness World Record.

Contrary to recent reports, Enitan has vehemently denied allegations that she ended up in the hospital, asserting her well-being in a video shared through the official X handle for the marathon.

Enitan, visibly in good spirits, expressed gratitude to her school, supporters, and sponsors while addressing the rumors surrounding her health.

She stated, “First of all, I’m sure you can see I’m very much okay. So to the people trending saying I landed in the hospital. I didn’t land in the hospital and these are my hands. I am better. I’ve been in my house with family members, my team members. I’ve been sleeping.

” I woke up this evening to take pictures. I have been very fine. Just dey play o. Nothing is wrong with me.”

The handwashing marathon, named the OAU Wash-a-thon, commenced on Friday, 24 November, with Enitan surpassing her initial plan of 50 hours by an impressive margin, washing for a total of 58 hours.

While her endurance and commitment are evident, the Guinness World Record is yet to officially confirm Enitan’s record-breaking attempt.

Enitan’s dedication to the cause has not only captivated the OAU community but has also garnered attention on social media.

The marathon, aimed at promoting hygiene and breaking a world record, has become a source of pride for the university.

As the news of Enitan’s success spreads, many are eagerly awaiting confirmation from the Guinness World Record authorities.

Regardless of the outcome, her efforts have already left an indelible mark on the OAU community and beyond, showcasing the power of determination and resilience.
