In a proactive move to enhance the living conditions of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has donated 300 mattresses to the NYSC Orientation Camp in the state.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the gesture aimed at supporting the comfort and well-being of Corps Members, comes as a response to the request made by the newly appointed State Coordinator, Mrs Nasamu Diana, shortly after assuming office.
The mattresses were officially presented to the NYSC at the Orientation Camp last night, and the State Coordinator, Mrs Nasamu Diana, expressed her gratitude for the timely and thoughtful contribution.
In her statement, she commended Governor Abiodun for recognizing the government’s crucial role in ensuring the seamless settlement of Corps Members posted to the state.
“The government is a critical stakeholder to ensure that the Corps Members posted to the state are settled down on time.
” This is for them to be agents of positive development to the state and nation at large,” she emphasized.
Mrs Nasamu Olayinka Diana went on to assure that the mattresses would be utilized judiciously, contributing significantly to the success of the Orientation Camp.
Furthermore, she highlighted the broader implications of the donation, stating, “The donation is a pointer that the government of the state has keyed into the NYSC DG’s projection of deploying 5000 Corps Members to all Orientation Camps in the nearest future.”
“This aligns with the overarching goal of promoting youth engagement and development across the nation.”
