In a remarkable display of community support, Dangote Cement Plc, Ibese, has generously contributed multi-million Naira worth of electrical supplies to neighboring communities surrounding its Ibese operations in Yewa North Local Government, Ogun State.

The donation aims to enable these communities to reconnect to the national grid and recover from months of power outage caused by issues with their distribution network’s High-Tension Lines.

The management of Dangote Cement Plc took swift action to address the prolonged power outage in these communities, providing essential electrical materials.

The Ogun State House of Assembly promptly acknowledged and commended the Cement factory for its timely response to the community’s needs.

Led by Mr. Ademola Ojolowo, the Head of Social Performance at Ibese Plant, the donation included 1,200 meters of Aluminium Conductor Steel-Reinforced Cable (ACSR), twenty (20) High Tension (HT) Poles, forty (40) pieces of Pot Insulator, and ten (10) pairs of Tie Straps.

The handover ceremony took place at the office of Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju Awoso, Ogun State House of Assembly member representing Yewa North State Constituency 1. Various stakeholder groups across the ten (10) beneficiary communities and officials from the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) witnessed the event.

During the ceremony, Mr. Ojolowo emphasized the company’s genuine concern for the community and its commitment to alleviating the socio-economic impact of the power outage.

He reiterated Dangote Cement’s dedication to the sustainable development of its host communities and ongoing collaboration on initiatives aimed at enhancing the general well-being of the residents.

In response, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiary communities, acknowledging the positive impact of Dangote Cement’s intervention in restoring power and improving the lives of the residents.
