    Two Lives Lost, Seven Injured In Sagamu-Ore crash

    A fatal collision unfolded on Saturday, on the J4 section of the Sagamu/Ijebu-Ode/Ore highway, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving seven individuals injured.

    The accident which occured at 3:35pm on Saturday, involved a Chevrolet SUV with the license plate WWW75MW and a truck marked SRA584XB.

    The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident, disclosing that the crash led to the injury of six men and one woman, while one man and one woman succumbed to their injuries.

    She siad that investigations by FRSC revealed that excessive speed and road obstruction were the suspected causes of the collision.

    She added that the driver of the Chevrolet SUV allegedly collided with the stationary truck due to speeding.

    She stated, fortunately, a compassionate Samaritan driver, who happened to be trailing the vehicles, swiftly intervened, rescuing the injured victims and rushing them to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

    Okoe explained that the lifeless bodies of the deceased were respectfully deposited at the morgue of the state General Hospital in Ijebu-Ode by FRSC operatives, marking a somber conclusion to the unfortunate incident.

    In response to the tragedy, Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of FRSC in the State, issued a heartfelt plea to motorists.

    He urged them to exercise caution and adhere to the stipulated speed limits, emphasizing the importance of heightened vigilance during periods of increased vehicular movement.
