The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, commonly known as So-Safe Corps,has apprehended Ayomide Ibrahim, aged 25, for burglary and theft in the Baba Ode area of Iju, located within the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest unfolded during a routine patrol on Thursday, conducted by the vigilant officers of the So-Safe Corps.
Ayomide Ibrahim, a suspect with alleged ties to a robbery gang specializing in stealing from worship centers in the region, was taken into custody.
In a press statement issued on Saturday by the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, it was revealed that Ayomide Ibrahim confessed to relocating from Abeokuta to join his accomplice in the Baba Ode area of Iju.
During preliminary interrogation, Ibrahim admitted his involvement in the theft of aluminum fittings, stating that the stolen exhibits were taken from an uncompleted building in Atan.
Notably, he identified Biola Adebesin as their gang leader. Adebesin had been previously apprehended by the Corps on January 18.
The suspect disclosed that the stolen church instruments were being sold at the Arena Shopping Complex in Oshodi, Lagos State. This revelation sheds light on the criminal network’s modus operandi.
Items recovered from Ayomide Ibrahim, presented as exhibits, have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Onipanu Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and potential prosecution.
