In a strategic move to accommodate the overwhelming demand from across the nation, the National Planning Committee of the Nigeria Public Relations Week, orchestrated by the  Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), has  extended  the early bird registration deadline to February 29, 2024.

This pivotal decision was conveyed by Mr. Akin Okudero, a distinguished Fellow of the Institute and Chairman of the Public Relations & Stakeholders Sub-Committee of NPRW.

The announcement followed a high-profile meeting of the Planning Committee, held over the weekend with chapter Chairmen of the Institute. The meeting, chaired by the Acting President of the Institute, Prof. E.S. Dandaura, witnessed the presence of key members of the Governing Council.

Mr. Okudero, in an official release, shed light on the rationale behind the extension, citing a surge in requests from enthusiastic members nationwide who sought to attend the Week but required additional time to benefit from the discounted rate of N80,000.00 for members and N120,000.00 for non-members.

The grace period has now been graciously extended to non-members, ensuring they too could  take advantage of the early bird rate of N120,000.00 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira Only).

The inaugural edition of the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) is scheduled to take place between April 22nd and 26th, 2024, at the iconic June 12 Cultural Centre in the historic city of Abeokuta.

NPRW Abeokuta 2024 promises a rich array of activities, including an annual conference, annual general meeting, plenary sessions, workshops, breakouts, networking opportunities, and evening social events.

The extravaganza will also feature a fashion show themed ‘Adire on the Runway,’ a mini-golf kitty, and guided tours to notable spots in Abeokuta such as the Olumo Rock, Adire Market, Raansome-Kuti Museum, and the upcoming Ogun Agro-Cargo Airport in Iperu.

With an anticipated attendance of over 2,000 delegates from across the country and beyond, the committee, in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, has endorsed several leading hotels across the city to provide comfortable accommodation for visiting participants.

The distinguished lineup of keynote speakers includes the Honourable Minister of Finance & Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Yemi Cardoso.

The Special and Chief Hosts for the event are Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun CON, and the  Minister of Information & Strategy, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Idris Mohamed Malagi, FNIPR, respectively.

The primary objective of the Week is to emphatically communicate the significant value that Public Relations adds to the socio-economic development of Nigeria.

It aims to showcase how the management discipline can be strategically leveraged for a competitive reputation advantage.

Mr. Okudero, in a passionate appeal, encouraged both members and non-members to seize this opportune moment, emphasizing that the regular rates of N100,000.00 and N150,000.00 for members and non-members, respectively, will come into effect without fail from March 1, 2024.
