The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, has removed Wale Oladoja from his position as Mogaji Akinsola of Opopo Labiran family compound.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the removal which was ratified at a recent emergency meeting of the Olubadan Advisory Council, directing the family to promptly present a replacement.
Oladoja’s suspension, which stemmed from allegations of land grabbing, had been initially imposed six months ago by the Advisory Council.
The recent decision to strip him of his title was driven by his perceived disrespectful media outbursts towards the Olubadan stool and the traditional institution of Ibadan land.
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that representatives from the Association of Mogajis of Ibadan land and the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes attended the meeting.
The Olubadan Advisory Council, led by Oba Balogun, deemed Oladoja’s conduct as divisive, insulting, and unbecoming of a leader.
The council emphasised that Oladoja’s actions post-suspension lacked any sense of remorse, citing his inhuman execution of a supposed court judgement on a land matter, which led to the expulsion of residents in Akinyele Local Government Area.
Despite being invited to the meeting, Oladoja failed to appear, citing his mother’s recent death as an excuse.
However, the council dismissed this claim, describing it as a mere ploy to evade scrutiny.
The council emphasized that a person of Oladoja’s character, known for his social media presence, would not have kept such a significant incident hidden.
To drive home the repercussions of his actions, the Akinsola Family has been tasked with presenting a replacement for the vacant Mogaji position.
The council made it clear that tolerating Oladoja’s indiscipline would set a dangerous precedent.
