A 30-year-old graduate of Architecture from the  Federal Polytechnic,in the Oboama Community of Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo State,Nerus Elemamba, has been found dead in his room.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Elemamba’s lifeless body was discovered hanging in his humble abode, casting a somber veil over the village.

The tragedy unfolded following Elemamba’s participation in the day’s communal labour activities, during which he appeared to be in good spirits, giving no indication of the turmoil brewing within.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source close to the family expressed disbelief over Elemamba’s sudden demise, highlighting his apparent lack of any visible signs of depression.

“The young man, Nerus, hails from Umuohii Village in Oboama Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State. His decision to take his own life has left us all in shock,” the source lamented.

Further compounding the community’s grief, another source confirmed the absence of any suicide note, leaving friends and family grasping for answers in the wake of such tragic loss.

“Nerus Chinaechenwa Elemamba, the second son of late Cajethan Elemamba, was found dead in his room after participating in the day’s labor activities,” the source revealed, underscoring the baffling nature of the incident.

Youth leader of the village, Iheukwumere Ibeh, echoed the sentiments of disbelief prevalent among villagers, describing the incident as shocking and inexplicable.

Despite customary rituals being performed, providing a semblance of closure, unanswered questions continue to haunt those left behind.

“He didn’t leave any note behind. He was not married. He is between 30 or 31 years of age,” Ibeh disclosed, his voice heavy with sorrow.

“He was not taken to a mortuary. He is being buried as we speak. This is after the required cultural rituals to appease the land have been carried out.”

The  spokesperson for the state police, Henry Okoye, said he  remains committed to unraveling the circumstances surrounding Elemamba’s tragic end. In the midst of profound sorrow, the village stands united in mourning, offering solace and support to one another during this difficult time.
