Former Arsenal star, Martin Keown, has urged the club not to sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea this summer.
According to Keown, the England international ‘doesn’t get past his man’.
Sterling’s Chelsea career appears all but over after he was dropped from the Blues’ Premier League opener against Manchester City last weekend.
The 29-year-old was then banished from first-team training by manager Enzo Maresca.
Sterling is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the summer transfer window as he is now deemed surplus to requirements.
When asked if Arsenal should sign Sterling, Keown told talkSPORT: “No, I don’t think I would [take him].
“I do rate this guy as a very good player. But I think, when he played for Man City, he did his best work off the ball.
“When you look what Pep [Guardiola ] did, it was all off-the-ball movement. When he has the ball, he does too much and he doesn’t get past his man.”
