Real Madrid boss, Carlos Ancelotti, has identified midfielder, Dani Ceballos, as an ‘important player’ in his squad despite his lack of regular playing time.
Ancelotti said he was happy that the former Arsenal star ended up staying at Real Madrid beyond this summer transfer window.
Ceballos was strongly linked with a return to LaLiga side Real Betis during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old even handed in a transfer request to seal the move.
However, Real Madrid’s valuation was not met, so Ceballos has remained in Ancelotti’s squad.
“He is an important player for us. It is true that he has not had the minutes he wanted or deserved, but we are happy that he has stayed with us.
“He will be very useful for the team,” Ancelotti said (via Diario AS) ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga home clash with Real Betis on Sunday.
