Moses Simon says it is important for the Super Eagles to start their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a win.

The West Africans will host neighbours, Benin Republic in a matchday one encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday.

Gernot Rohr’s side defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 the last time the two teams met in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in June.

Simon stated that it is important for the Super Eagles to avenge the defeat this time around.

“Of course all Nigerians are expecting a win, so we will just go there, do our best,” the Nantes winger was quoted by SCORENigeria.

“The best Nigeria needs is to find a win, this is the most important thing”.
