Adebutu Affirms Tinubu’s National Ownership Amidst Controversy

The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu transcends political affiliations, saying that the president belonging to all Nigerians.

This proclamation took center stage during the PDP’s year-end party in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Adebutu’s assertion was prompted by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun’s exclusive claim to the presidency and accusations of deliberate resource withholding for Tinubu during the Presidential elections.

Amidst the political tussle, speculations are rife about Adebutu contemplating a switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reinforce support for President Bola Tinubu in the South West.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu belongs to us all. Nobody can claim the presidency; it belongs to all Nigerians. You voted for your local government and economic relief.

The relief has come, and I am the one,” declared Adebutu, addressing the crowd.

The potential defection of Adebutu adds a layer of intrigue to the unfolding political saga, as alliances in the South West could undergo significant shifts.

However, amidst the uncertainty, Sunday Solarin, the Secretary of the PDP, urged party members to remain calm.

He expressed confidence in a favorable judgment at the Supreme Court, attributing previous losses to technicalities.

Solarin reassured party faithful that the Supreme Court judgment would be grounded in evidence.

“The election has not concluded; we still have the matter pending at the Supreme Court. Our people are hopeful due to their hard work and the level of acceptability the party has received from the electorate.

The party genuinely won the election, and we firmly believe the Supreme Court will set the record straight as it is the court of policies,” emphasized Solarin.

As the political landscape in Ogun State continues to evolve, the Supreme Court’s forthcoming judgment is anticipated to shape the trajectory of the PDP’s electoral fortunes and potentially redefine alliances in the region.

The assertion of Tinubu’s national ownership resonates beyond party lines, underscoring the complexity of political dynamics in the state.
