The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State,Ladi Adebutu has returned to Nigeria after spending eight months in the United Kingdom.

Adebutu’s return was marked by a warm reception at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Friday night, where he was welcomed by his running mate, Adekunle Akinlade, Tola Banjo, and other leaders of the PDP in Ogun State.

The former House of Representatives member, who had been away for medical attention following the general elections, arrived with an air of anticipation surrounding his return.

A video captured the moment Adebutu touched down on Nigerian soil, greeted by enthusiastic supporters and party leaders.

Afolabi Orekoya, Adebutu’s media aide, officially confirmed the return of his principal, putting an end to speculations about the governorship candidate’s prolonged stay abroad.

Adebutu’s absence had sparked various discussions, with earlier reports suggesting that the decision to remain in the UK was influenced by concerns for his personal safety, citing threats to his life.

In a previous interview, Adebutu had addressed the circumstances surrounding his extended stay, attributing it to the perceived threats.

The PDP governorship candidate’s return is expected to reignite political activities in Ogun State, especially within the party, as preparations for the upcoming political landscape gain momentum.
