Ogun State House of Assembly has approved Governor Dapo Abiodun’s request to appoint 20 Special Advisers for the running of government pending the appointment of State Commissioners. The approval followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff following the presentation of the Governor’s correspondence to the members, while Atinuke Bello seconded the motion, which was supported by all members. The Federal Government has proposed to spend N9.2 billion on 71 polytechnics with each institution receiving N130 million. TETFund’s Director of Infrastructure, Mallam Buhari Mika’Ilu, on Tuesday, disclosed this at the TETFund/NBTE sensitisation workshop on 2023 zonal intervention on skills for rectors and directors of skills in beneficiary polytechnics in Abuja. The Edo State Government has ordered that civil and public servants would go to work three days a week. The government has also increased the minimum wage from the approved N30, 000 to N40, 000. A judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja, Inyang Ekwo, has warned those sending private messages to him over N5 billion corruption trial of former minister of aviation, Stella Oduah and others to desist from intruding on his privacy. Ekwo who did not provide the identities of the senders, gave the warning at the resumed hearing of the case on Monday. The National Industrial Court of Nigeria in Abuja has restrained the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) from embarking on a strike over the removal of fuel subsidy. The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has advised President Bola Tinubu to increase the minimum wage of workers in the country in order to cushion the effects of subsidy removal. The union also suggested that it’s implementation commence at the end of June in order to implement Petroleum Industry Act.
