Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti has been granted bail by Magistrate Court in Yaba,Lagos . The court ordered that the defendant must produce two sureties who must be owners of landed properties in Lagos State. Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun also ordered police to complete their investigation within 48 hours. Seun was charged with assault on a police officer, an offence contrary to Section 356 of the Criminal Code Act. The police prosecutor, S. A. Aminat Gusanu Minister of Science,Technology and Innovation,Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora,has called for a ban on all foreign products,saying that, Nigeria has the capacity to produce locally. An officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Inspector Abel Dickson, has lost his life during a fight with his colleagues over the custody of some items belonging to a suspect in detention. The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed the incident in Abuja on Tuesday. Uwujaren said the deceased and two other colleagues, Assistant Superintendent Apata Odunayo and Inspector Ogbuji Tochukwu, were attached to the Sokoto State Command of the commission. Peace Adedigba A Magistrates’ Court 1 sitting in Bauchi, on Tuesday, admitted a Bauchi-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Idris Abdulaziz, to strigent bail conditions which include N1 million, a Permanent Secretary and two others as sureties. The Federal Government has disclosed that the governments of Olusegun Obasanjo; late Umar Musa Yar’Adua ; Dr Goodluck Jonathan and the current government of Muhamamdu Buhari have spent N13 trillion on fuel subsidy.
