The Osun house of assembly has repealed the law validating the public usage of the state’s anthem, crest and flag. Speaker of the State Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday. Recall that former governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola had instituted the Osun State Anthem, Crest and Flag Law 2012. Five years after he left office, the assembly upturned the decision. A day-old female baby dumped near a septic tank at Gowon Estate in the Ipaja area of the state has been rescued by men of the Lagos State Police Command. The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin,disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday. The University of Abuja (UniAbuja) has denied the allegation that it was extorting graduating students preparing for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The university described the reports on social media that as untrue and baseless. The troops of the Nigerian Army deployed to end the crisis in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State have killed three bandits in the area.
