Daud Olatunji The management of Babcock University Teaching Hospital (BUTH) has voiced concern over the abandonment of one of its patients,  Maurice Okpenyong. PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the patient was abandoned by his children, who have reportedly  disappeared after signing his discharge in December 2023. Okpenyong, a resident of Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, was  reportedly brought to the hospital by his son, identified as  Lawrence and a daughter. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has cautioned Nigerians against the mutilation of naira notes, threatening to convict naira abusers like Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky.  Bobrisky was convicted and sentenced to six months in jail without an option of fine for abusing Naira.  EFCC stated this on its social media platforms, reiterating that non-compliance with the directive could lead to legal consequences.  The agency in its message wrote, “Say No To Abuse of the Naira. A Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) employee, Mr Monday Osazuwa, on Friday, told an Ikeja Special Offences Court how the former apex bank governor, Godwin Emefiele, on different occasions, directed him to collect three million dollars cash in tranches. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says inflation is easing faster than expected but has yet to be fully defeated. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of IMF, was quoted in a statement by the Fund on Thursday to have said this at the China Development Forum (CDF) 2024, in Benue .
