    Benue Gov Commenced Probe of Ortom’s Administration

    The new governor of Benue state, Governor Hyacinth Alia has inaugurated two committees to probe the administration of his predecessor Samuel Ortom.

    Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Kulas Tersoo, in a statement on Sunday said two committees, Assets Recovery for State and Local Government Areas and a fact-finding committee will look into the affairs of Benue State University ( BSUl) Makurdi.

    He said the State Assets Recovery Committee will be chaired by Hon. Hinga Biem with Barr. Joe Abaagu, Hon. Dennis Akura, Hon. Ioryue Yajir, Peter Egbodo, Hon. Joseph Ojobo, Jonathan Modi, Barr. Shaageer Matins, Yuhe Jerome, Barr. Tom Uja and Barr. Tormbuwua Terlumun as members.

    He added that the Local Government Assets and Recovery Committee has Dr. Jude Tyo as Chairman and Barr. Aondowase Apera, Hon. Kwaghgba Amande, Richard Dzungweve, Hon. Anthony Sende , Olofu Ogwuche, Mr. Terver Kachina and Hon. Nick Eworo – Member Secretary.

    The statement said out of the two committees, each is to work at the state level, and Local Government level.

    According to the statement,they are to, among other things, ascertain all assets of the government, including lands, vehicles, houses, furniture and
    other machinery.

    “Both committees will have able representatives from the Department of State Security, The Police, The Military and Nigeria Civil Defence Corps.

    “Governor Alia also inaugurated a fact- Finding Committee for the Benue State University with members as Hon. Paul Biam – Chairman Barr. Jacob Ajene, Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, Prof. Eugene Alyegba and Mr. Agbo Ochekpe – Member/Secretary.
