The Capital City University Kano (CCUK) has been granted a full license to operate as a private institution in Nigeria, following an approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

This was disclosed by the university’s Registrar,Hajiya Rakiya Bello Dandago in a statement issued on Thursday.
She explained that the milestone was reached after a thorough visitation by the NUC panel recently.

According to her, the panel expressed satisfaction with the university’s facilities and its adherence to operational standards, marking a significant endorsement for the institution, which began its operations in 2021.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that initially, CCUK had been operating under a provisional license, a common practice for newly established universities.

However, with the recent assessment, the NUC deemed the university fit to receive a full license, signifying a key step in the university’s progression.

Speaking on the development, the Registrar of the university, highlighted the institution’s commitment to excellence.

“This outcome is a product of the dedication and hard work of the governing council, management, and staff, who have collectively strived to create a niche for the university,” she remarked.

Situated in the heart of Kano City, Capital City University is positioning itself as a leader in transforming education in the region and beyond.

The university has pledged to continuously upgrade its infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of tertiary education in the 21st century.

The Vice Chancellor of CCUK, Professor Yusuf Daraja, also congratulated the university’s stakeholders, especially its students, on this monumental achievement.

In his statement, he emphasized the importance of this license in bolstering the institution’s mission of providing world-class education and contributing to societal development.
