Joshua Rogers, a reporter for Channels Television stationed in Rivers State, has  shared snippets of his traumatic 24-hour ordeal after being abducted by unknown assailants near his residence in Port Harcourt.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the incident occurred  on Thursday when Rogers was forcibly taken from near his home, only to be released from captivity around 11 pm on Friday.

During his captivity, Rogers’ abductors reportedly contacted his wife, demanding a staggering N30 million ransom for his safe return.

However, it remains unclear whether any money exchanged hands to secure his freedom.

In a Facebook post shortly after his release, Rogers revealed chilling details of his time in captivity, including being blindfolded for nearly a day and enduring six hours exposed to the elements in the pouring rain.

Accompanying his words were images of his rain-soaked white singlet and black shoes.

Despite the ordeal, Rogers expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and prayers he received, emphasising his safe return home at 11 pm the following day, physically unharmed.

News of his release sparked jubilation among fellow journalists, friends, and associates, with Charles Opurum, a colleague at Channels TV, and Reuben Okwa, Chairman of the Andoni Practicing Journalists Association (APJA), confirming the joyous news via various platforms, spreading hope and relief throughout the community.
