In a horrifying turn of events, a yet-to-be-identified man allegedly stabbed a female sex worker to death on Sunday at Lawfab Hotel in Osubi, within the Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria.

The victim, identified as Vera, was the unfortunate target of violence by one of her clients. The assailant reportedly used a broken bottle in the attack before swiftly fleeing the scene.

The incident highlights the vulnerability of sex workers and raises concerns about their safety in such establishments.

Sources reveal that Vera, the oldest prostitute in the hotel, had been engaged by a customer who paid for an overnight service in her room, extending till daybreak. However, a second customer arrived, seeking a shorter service with Vera.

In an attempt to accommodate both clients, Vera locked the first customer in her room and moved to a different room with the new client.

Following the short-time service, a dispute erupted when the second customer refused to pay the agreed amount.

The disagreement escalated into a serious argument, culminating in a shocking act of violence as the disgruntled customer stabbed Vera with a broken bottle.

Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters, emphasizing that an investigation is underway.

Despite the suspect being at large, authorities are actively working to bring clarity to this tragic event.

The incident underscores the urgent need for measures to enhance the safety of sex workers within such establishments.
