    Delta Governor-Elect Oborewori To UPU: We Will Do Our Best To Bring More Development To Delta

    The People Democratic Party (PDP) Governor-Elect in Delta state, and speaker for Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborewori has said the PDP lead administration in the state will do it best to attract more needful development to the state.

    The Hon. Speaker and PDP Governor-Elect in the stated this when the Apex body of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) pays him a congratulatory visit to celebrate him in the just concluded Governorship elections in Asaba.

    The Governor-Elect expressed delight at the visits said he is extremely happy for the visit that his MORE agenda is to listen more.

    He disclosed that one pleasant thing he noticed at the UPU Apex body visit was that they didn’t come to make personal request for the Urhobo Nation, rather the body demanded for the interest of the entire Deltans.

    He said the request of the UPU, prompted payment of salaries as at when due, the incumbent governor is already doing that; and pensioners which the transition committee will also touch in their recommendations for areas to advice.

    He maintained that in constituting the transition committee, all sectors of the were fully involved to bridge the gap, the private sector, the CSO, Civil servants, PFM and the student community were part of the committee.

    He added that “the government will do it best to bring development to Deltans but that UPU being the apex body of Urhobo Ethnic Nationality has a role to play, saying when there is security it will bring countless developments”.

    He, however, urged the Urhobo Ethnic Nationality to as a matter of urgency to call their respective wards to avert crime related issues, especially in the Delta central.

    Earlier, during his opening remarks, the President General of the Urhobo Progress Union, Olorogun Ese Gam disclosed that the purpose of the congratulatory visit to the governor elect was that they (UPU) believe he Oborevwori will take Deltans to the promised land.

    He maintained that the governor elect name is significant in the state, just as he also noted the UPU will fully support him on behalf of the Urhobo Nation, and urged him to look into the issue of prompt payment of salaries, Pensions and creation of jobs to curb unemployment among youth in the state.

    In his words, ” we want to commend you and let you know that your name is very significant, and we wish to let know our part and on behalf of the Urhobo nation, we solidly behind you”.

    “ We will be solidly behind you for the MORE AGENDA if you can focus your attention on your MORE AGENDA”.
