EPL: Berbatov labels two players embarrassing, names striker Man Utd should sign

Former Manchester United attacker, Dimitar Berbatov has labelled strikers, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee ’embarrassing’ after their barren goalscoring start to the new season.

Hojlund has scored just two goals in ten matches since returning from injury in September, while Zirkzee has failed to score a goal since scoring against Fulham on his debut.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Berbatov also urged the Red Devils to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, adding that he has a special connection with new Man United manager Ruben Amorim.

“This guy Viktor Gyokeres, he is scoring goals for the run right now,” Berbatov said.

“So I think there is a special connection with the coach, so maybe we are probably going to see him in a United shirt.”

He added, “From what he is showing right now, I think yes [I would welcome his signing].

“Our strikers [ Hojlund and Zirkzee] at the moment are not producing and scoring goals.

“We are 18th in the league [for goals scored so far this season] which is embarrassing for a statue of a club like United. So this is a position that I would like to see improvement.”
