EPL: Emmanuel Petit names Arsenal star as biggest disappointments of the season

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has named Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling, as the biggest disappointment this season.

According to the former midfielder, Sterling, who is currently on loan at Arsenal, has not done enough to break into the either team’s first XI.

Petit, who played for both Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League, said that the England international’s form has seen a sharp decline since he left Manchester City.

He told Casino Hawks, “Raheem Sterling has been one of the most disappointing signings of the summer.

“The environment might not have been good for him at Chelsea, but he wasn’t the only one, it’s not an excuse.

“Ever since he left Manchester City, and even before that which is why they let him go, he hasn’t been good enough and it’s hard to understand why.

“My explanation would be that he has got so much money during his career that he is no longer hungry. He wakes up every morning without a target to reach.”
