In a harrowing incident that has sent shockwaves through the Apamisede community near Army Barracks, Adavi Local Government Area, on the outskirts of Lokoja, Kogi State, a teenage boy, Goodness Oshodi, was apprehended by the Kogi State Police for allegedly burying his younger brother, Friday Oshodi, alive.

The disturbing act was reportedly carried out as a punishment for Friday’s theft of N10,000 belonging to their mother.

The horrifying incident unfolded in the quiet residential neighborhood, with Goodness attempting to execute the directive of his mother, who had instructed him to discipline his sibling for the theft.

Taking the extreme step, Goodness chose to bury his brother alive in a pit.

Fortunately, a vigilant and compassionate neighbor intervened, rescuing Friday and saving his life.

An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed the chilling details of the event.

According to the witness, Goodness admitted to burying his brother alive, claiming he was merely following their mother’s instructions to punish Friday for the theft.

When questioned about their mother’s whereabouts, Goodness stated that she was away attending church at the time.

SP William Aya, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the shocking incident.

He stated, “Yes, we are aware. The boy (Goodness) has been arrested.

“Investigation is ongoing as to why and how such a thing could happen.” Goodness was taken into custody after he dug the pit and buried his brother alive, and Friday was fortunate to be rescued by alert neighbours.”

This disturbing case has left the community and law enforcement authorities searching for answers and seeking justice for the young victim.
