Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos has scheduled June 24, 2024, for the arraignment of Lagos monarch, the Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, and six others. They face allegations of involvement in a N29.3 million fraud case.

The defendants, including Abdulfatai Bankole, Abubakar Seriki, Razak Seriki, Mrs. Jemilatu Busari, Amoda Ibrahim, and Adams Adebiyi, are to be arraigned on a four-count charge filed by the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi, Lagos.

Initially set for Wednesday, the arraignment was postponed due to the defendants’ absence in court.

Their lawyer informed the court that Oladega was abroad for medical treatment, and others were not residing within the community.

The police allege that between 2014 and 2022, the defendants conspired to fraudulently obtain N29.3 million, along with vehicles, from several individuals.

The charges include counts of obtaining proceeds through false pretense.

Despite difficulties in serving the charges directly, the judge ordered them to be served through their legal representative, Abayomi Fagbayi.
