The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the permits of three private jet operators for conducting commercial flights.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, had earlier highlighted the detrimental impact of unlicensed commercial activities on government revenue.
Keyamo emphasized the disparity in fees between private and commercial operations, underscoring the significant loss incurred by the government due to this illicit practice.
Acting swiftly on the minister’s directive, the NCAA suspended the permits of the erring operators, citing flagrant disregard for regulations despite prior admonitions.
This suspension serves as a clear message of the authority’s zero tolerance for violations and its commitment to ensuring compliance within the aviation industry.
Captain Chris Najomo, the Acting Director General of NCAA, reiterated the importance of upholding regulatory standards for the safety and economic integrity of the aviation sector.
He emphasized the need for all operators to adhere strictly to prescribed regulations and announced a comprehensive re-evaluation of permit holders to verify compliance.
Furthermore, the authority issued a directive for all holders of the Permit for Non-Commercial Flights to submit relevant documents within a specified timeframe, underlining the rigorous enforcement measures being implemented.
In a bid to further enhance transparency and accountability, the NCAA urged the public to refrain from patronizing charter operators lacking valid Air Operators Certificates, emphasizing the importance of reporting any suspicious activities promptly.
