The Nigerian Foreign Service has lost one of its senior diplomats, Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, who was serving as the Ambassador to Morocco.

He was also the younger brother of the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

He died at the age of 42 at a private hospital in Lagos while on transit to Morocco, according to a statement by the Media and Publicity officer of the Zazzau emirate council.

The statement did not reveal the cause of his death.

The emirate council said that the funeral arrangements for the late ambassador will be communicated later.

He left behind a wife and two children.

Mansur Nuhu Bamalli was appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Morocco in October 2022 by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He had a long and distinguished career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he rose to the rank of deputy director.

He was among the 300 Nigerian ambassadors who were recalled by the Foreign Affairs Ministry in September 2023, but had not returned to the country due to logistical challenges.
