Nigerians Anticipate   Positive Changes — Sultan  Tells Tinubu

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), led by its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, conveyed a message to President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the urgency for positive changes that would reignite hope among Nigerians.

Speaking at the fifth anniversary of the 17th Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage-Mohammed (retd), in Lafia, Sultan Abubakar underscored the importance of national unity and discouraged secession as a solution to the country’s security challenges.

He urged citizens to pray for leaders’ success and called for swift action to address economic and security concerns. Notably, the event witnessed a display of unity among traditional rulers from across the country.

The Sultan said, “We know that our leaders are trying, but the people are in a hurry to see positive changes that will renew their hopes for a better life.

“We are showing the whole world that royal fathers in this country are united, just look at the list of traditional rulers from the six geo-political zones that honoured the occasion,” he added

The Shehu of Borno, Ibn Umar-Garbai, echoed the call for cooperation with security agencies to combat insurgency and criminal activities, emphasizing the significance of providing credible information.

“When we keep quiet about the activities of criminals in our areas, we are inviting problems, so we should continue to enlighten our people to work with security agencies as traditional rulers,” he said.

Dignitaries present included former governors and eminent traditional rulers from various regions, signifying a collective commitment to addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
