The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ogun State has denied claims that  its members have defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Olumide Onabajo, the official spokesperson of ADC Ogun Statr said this in a statement .

Onabajo stated  that the ADC remains united and steadfast, dismissing the claim by the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state, Ladi Adebutu’s assertions as baseless and misleading.

“No member of our party has defected to Hon. Adebutu’s group or any other party,” Onabajo stated.

He highlighted  the solid foundation of integrity, transparency, and genuine service to the people that the ADC has built in the  State.

The party’s leadership condemned the spread of a video released by Adebutu in Sagamu, which they described as deceptive.

Onabajo criticised Adebutu for his focus on what he termed as a “jamboree” instead of addressing his challenges within the PDP, where he is reportedly on the brink of being expelled.

“A person with the resources available to him who lost an election even with a prominent Deputy Governorship Candidate and the support of all opposition parties, Honourable Adebutu should focus on rebuilding his business and showing an audited account of his holdings and business interests before he parades  himself as a leader,” Onabajo asserted.

The ADC called on all political actors to refrain from spreading lies and using the party’s name for personal gain.

They stressed the importance of fair and honest political discourse that prioritises the welfare of the people over manipulative tactics.

He however said that under the leadership of State Chairman Hon. Abioro Itunu, the ADC has positioned itself as a party of choice in Ogun State.

Onabajo credited their inclusive approach, visionary policies, and commitment to good governance for attracting individuals from diverse backgrounds who are dedicated to making a positive societal impact.

The ADC urged residents of Ogun State to remain vigilant and discerning, cautioning against falling prey to the propaganda aimed at tarnishing the party’s reputation and unity.

The party reiterated its commitment to bringing positive change through innovative policies and inclusive leadership, striving to promote the interests of the people and build a prosperous and equitable society.
