The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the mysterious death of a hotel supervisor, Mr. Adedokun Oluyemi, whose lifeless body was discovered in his apartment at Solution One Hotel in the Ago Oko area of Abeokuta, the state capital.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Oluyemi, who was a supervisor at the hotel, was found unresponsive in his room around 6 a.m. on Saturday.

Sources revealed that a bar assistant at the hotel, identified as Taiyelolu, became concerned after multiple failed attempts to reach him.

When she found his door locked and received no response, she reportedly alerted the police at the Oke Itoku division.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, stated that there were no visible signs of violence on Oluyemi’s body.

She explained, “The report was made by a bar attendant, Taiyelolu, who, upon finding the door locked and after several unsuccessful attempts to gain entry, forced the door open and discovered Mr. Oluyemi lying lifeless on the bed.

“Police emergency services, through the divisional police officer, were immediately dispatched to the scene, and Mr. Oluyemi was transported to the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.

“There was no mark of violence on his body when the team of first responders arrived at the hotel.”

Despite urgent medical attention, Oluyemi was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The command further disclosed that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough probe.

“The body has since been deposited at the State Hospital mortuary for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death,” Odutola added.

She assured the public that investigations were ongoing while efforts were being made to notify and support the bereaved family.

“The police are actively investigating the incident, and efforts are underway to notify and support the bereaved family during this difficult time,” she said.

Odutola also extended the police command’s condolences to Oluyemi’s family and colleagues, advising hotel managements to prioritize routine health checks for their staff.

This incident comes just weeks after a similar case where a 62-year-old hotel attendant, Abel Johnson, was found dead in his room at De-Lay Classic Hotel in Kajola Village, near Obafe Town

Johnson, like Oluyemi, was last seen the night before he was discovered lifeless in his room.

Authorities have assured the public of a thorough investigation into the latest incident to determine the cause of Oluyemi’s sudden death.
