In a daring operation, the operatives of the Department of Federal Intelligence-Investigation Response Team (DFI-IRT) have successfully thwarted a potential kidnapping attempt in the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives received information regarding the whereabouts of a notorious bandit group under the leadership of Isa Dei-Dei.
At approximately 10:15am, the specialized team swiftly moved to the identified hideout, aiming for the apprehension of the criminal mastermind, Isa Dei-Dei, and his accomplices.
As the operatives closed in on the location, the bandits detected their presence and attempted to evade arrest.
A high-stakes pursuit ensued, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire between the law enforcement agents and the criminal syndicate.
During the intense confrontation, Isa Dei-Dei, the notorious leader of the bandit group, was neutralized by the vigilant DFI-IRT operatives.
Despite the successful elimination of the primary threat, other members of the criminal syndicate managed to escape the scene, sustaining gunshot injuries in the process.
In response to this development, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, urged members of the community, particularly medical practitioners, to promptly report any individuals seeking medical attention for gunshot wounds.
He said that this call for cooperation aims to aid further investigations into the whereabouts and activities of the fleeing members of the bandit syndicate.
The police operation serves as a testament to the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety and security of residents in the FCT.
Adejobi reiterated the commitment of the police force to combatting criminal elements and maintaining public order.
