Protesters on Friday, stormed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission headquarters in Abuja, demanding the immediate investigation and arrest of the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
The group, led by former Kogi state Deputy Governor, Hon Simon Achuna, along with Peter Ocheni and NADECO Okpanachi, accused Bello of financial impropriety totaling N80 billion.
The protesters urged the EFCC to revisit its earlier investigation into Bello’s tenure, which had been hampered by the constitutional immunity granted to the governor during his time in office.
In a formal letter submitted to the EFCC, the group called for a thorough investigation into the alleged misappropriation of public funds by Yahaya Bello.
