The Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF) has expresses its deepest condolences following the demise of the distinguished playwright, poet, and dramatist, Sir Jimi Solanke KCW.
Solanke died at the age of 81 after a brief illness at his Ipara-Remi residence on Monday.
A statement by the group signed by its Media and Publicity Adviser,Omo’ba Abiola Ogundeko,said the somber news, announced on Monday, marks the conclusion of an era in the vibrant tapestry of Nigerian arts and culture.
The statement read that the heartfelt sympathies of RemoGDF, conveyed on behalf of the Governing Council and the entire foundation, are extended by Otunba Seni Adetu, the Foundation’s Chairman, to the bereaved family.
The statement further read that Sir Jimi Solanke’s creative brilliance has not only enriched the cultural landscape but has also etched an indelible imprint on the hearts of those privileged to experience his work.
“ As we collectively grieve the loss of this visionary artist, it is essential to celebrate the profound impact he had on the world of literature and drama.
“During these challenging times, RemoGDF stands in solidarity with the family, offering thoughts and prayers. It is our hope that the cherished memories of Sir Jimi Solanke will bring solace and comfort amid the prevailing sorrow. May his soul find eternal peace.”
